Drink driver banned

A Minnigaff man was banned from driving for 16 months and fined £500 after being caught driving when twice over the legal limit.

Twenty-three year old Daniel Ferries of Cumloden Road, was stopped by police on the A714 near Penninghame in February.

He was found to have 82 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the legal limit being 35.

Ferries will have his ban reduced to 12 months if he passes the drink driving rehabilitation course.
