Organisers of this year’s Wickerman have revealed that the Saturday night headliner for the July event will be Scottish pop-rock band Del Amitri.
The Dundrennan-based festival will also welcome back Alabama 3 for the Friday night, with other main stage acts still to be announced.
Del Amitri are set to storm the stage in what will be their first festival appearance in 12 years.
The chart-topping band, who have sold six million albums, will perform their hits such as “Nothing Ever Happens”, “Always the Last to Know”, “Roll to Me” and “Kiss This Thing Goodbye”.
Guitarist Iain Harvie said: “It’s been a long time, but what a prospect it is to play to a Scottish festival crowd again. We’re really looking forward to joining all the Wickerman fans this summer.”
Returning to Galloway will be English alternative rock act Alabama 3 with hits both old and new, including “Woke Up This Morning”, the theme tune to hit American TV series, “The Sopranos”, which the band are renowned for the world over.
The festival take place on July 25- 26.
