A FAMILIAR face at Kirkcudbright Sheriff Court stood down last week after 12 years in the post.

Iain Currie, a former police officer with the Dumfries and Galloway Force, officially retired last Thursday and tributes were paid by Sheriff Kenneth Robb and staff before the sitting of the court.

Mr Currie has been the court officer primarily at Kirkcudbright but also oversaw procedings at Stranraer and Dumfries courts.
