Consultation into reopening of Glenluce Post Office announced
The Glenluce Post Office could re-open
POST Office Ltd have announced a public consultation on its proposal to re-open Glenluce Post Office as a Hosted Outreach service.
The branch temporarily closed in November 2011 due to the resignation of the subpostmaster and the withdrawal of premises for Post Office use.
Since the closure of the branch, Post Office say they have been actively working in the area to find an alternative way of providing Post Office services to its customers in the local community.
A spokeswoman said: “The plan is to re-open this branch as a Hosted Outreach service from Oldluce Parish Church Hall, Church Street. The service will be provided by our subpostmaster from Newluce Post Office, on Tuesday from 09:00 to 12:00, Thursday and Friday from 14:00 to 17:00, and will offer a wide range of Post Office products and services.
“The premises have a portable ramp, if required, and internally there will be a low-level serving counter, hearing loop and space for a wheelchair and there are parking facilities available.”
