Consideration given to public defribillator for Wigtown

WIGTOWN could be in line for a defribillator which can be used by anyone - trained or otherwise.

Following a meeting of the Wigtown Partnership for Health on Tuesday, members decided to consider siting one somewhere in the town which anyone can use should someone collapse and require immediate assistance.

Speaking at the meeting was Derek Ritchie, a paramedic from Drummore, who gave a much appreciated talk on the advantages of having a public, automatic defibrillator in the town.

The next meeting of the Partnership is the AGM on Tuesday 16th April at 7pm in The Smiddy to which all are welcome.
