Close shave for Kim as she steals control away from cancer

GALLOWAY Gazette senior sales executive Kim Crosbie is taking matters into her own hands to raise cash for Cancer Research - by shaving her head.

Kim, 42, who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, has begun an intensive treatment programme which will see her lose her locks over the next few months. She is currently recovering from surgery which is giving her plenty of time to come up with fundraising ideas.

So, having set up a team for this year’s Cancer Research Relay for Life at Bladnoch Park before she was diagnosed, the mother-of-three (who is known in the office for her changeable hairstyles) has decided to kick-start the team’s fundraising efforts by beating cancer to it and having her head shaved.

Her hairdresser sister, Donna, will do the deed this weekend and you can donate by visiting the Gazette offices in Newton Stewart or online at relay.cancerresearchuk.org and typing in either Kim Crosbie or by the team name of The Gazette Girls.

The Relay for Life is a 24-hour walk around Bladnoch Park on July 6-7 to highlight the fact that cacner never sleeps. See the website for how to enter your own team.
