Volunteers are being sought in Dumfries and Galloway to boost a charity.
Diabetes UK Scotland wants enthusiastic locals to help co-ordinate a collection weekend at local Tesco stores.
Local area liaison coordinator for Diabetes Uk Scotland Lindsay Milligan is hoping people will come forward to help her project.
Lindsay said: “I cover the whole Dumfries and Galloway area, offering support to existing volunteers and fundraisers for Diabetes uk Scotland.
“I got into volunteering with Diabetes uk by helping out at children’s care events (week-long camps) and family care event weekends. This has been very rewarding over the past four years. I wanted to give something back as the charity has helped me enormously during my past 25 years of being a type-one diabetic, after being diagnosed aged six.
“I was asked to be area liaison coordinator for Dumfries and Galloway and was delighted to take on the role.
“I am personally looking for volunteers in Dumfries for both large Tesco stores, and am also looking for volunteers in Lockerbie and Castle Douglas stores.
“Hundreds of volunteers are needed to support the Big Collection weekend taking place at stores across Scotland on October 4, 5 and 6 .
“The weekend is being organised as part of a major national charity partnership between Diabetes UK and Tesco. The partnership aims to support the millions of people who have to live with diabetes every day.
“Volunteers can select three-hour shifts, running from 9am until 6pm on October 4 and 5 and 10am till 4pm on October 6.
“The Big Collection weekend in Tesco stores is a great way to inform customers about diabetes while raising money for Diabetes UK. But it is only possible with the support of people who give up their time.”
