Campaign aims to draw autumn visitors

Autumn short breaks in Dumfries and Galloway are being promoted as part of the national tourism organisation’s latest seasonal push.

A direct mail campaign created by VisitScotland, in partnership with Dumfries and Galloway Council, highlights the natural beauty of the region and offersa ideas for things to see and do. The print campaign will target around 50,000 homes within drivetime of Dumfries and Galloway, including people who live in central Scotland and northern England.

Art in the landscape, events, walking, cycling, wildlife and the Solway Coast Heritage Trail, as well as food and drink, are all highlighted in the colourful mail campaign which is part of VisitScotland’s Surprise Yourself initiative.

The VisitScotland promotion also includes mention of the region’s Dark Sky Park, the world class 7Stanes mountain biking trails and the various festivals that take place throughout the autumn and winter.
