Business awards finalists announced

Scottish Chambers of Commerce will host its inaugural Scottish Business Honours 2014 ceremony on Thursday 11th September 2014 at the Prestonfield House, Edinburgh. The prestigious awards are sponsored by Virgin Atlantic, strengthening Scottish Chambers of Commerce’s global vision of building a strong export focused economy.

The Scottish Business Honours are truly unique - it takes winning businesses from Dumfries & Galloway Chamber of Commerce and showcases our winners at the national ceremony.

Brian Rennie President, Dumfries & Galloway Chambers of Commerce said: “Scottish businesses shine through innovation and enjoy success through hard work and determination. I am proud our members have the opportunity to showcase their business on a national stage.

“This ceremony, by business and for business, recognises the efforts of those who wake up each day and strive to create jobs, tap into new markets and contribute to Scotland’s future

“Now is the time for us to come together and celebrate, to seize the opportunities that lie ahead and show the world that Business is Great for Scotland.”

Gordon Mann Chief Executive of Dumfries & Galloway Chamber of Commerce added;

“With finalists in all except one category Dumfries and Galloway businesses have demonstrated that they can stand comparison with the best in Scotland. We are all very proud of the work they have done and wish them well at the final in September.”

Rachel Speedie of the Art Room in Dumfries will go head to head with Eddie Black of Eco Genics in the Entrepreneur of the Year Category. Eco Genics are also a finalist in the Business of the Year (under 25 employees) and in the Most Innovative Business categories following their success in the Dumfries & Galloway Awards in March. Cream o’ Galloway is also shortlisted in the Most Innovative Business section

GTR Contracts are finalists in the Business of the Year (over 25 employees) and Church Court Dental Practice in the Growing Talent category.

Both Ladderlimb and CIET(UK)Ltd having shared the honours in March are now through to the final of the Most Promising Business category.
