Belt charge dropped

THE case against a Newton Stewart man charged with swinging a belt which struck a woman has been dropped.

Martin Emerson, 37, of King Street, had been charged with behaving in a threatening manner at 63 Main Street, Kirkcowan, on November 10.

But fiscal depute Paula Forbes told Stranraer Sheriff Court the crown was deserting the case.
