Attack on baby denied

A woman who denies injuring a six-week-old baby with a wooden candle holder appeared at Stranraer Sheriff Court this week.

Carolann Graham, 31, of 2 Fairhurst Road, Stranraer, is accused of throwing a wooden candle holder at both the child and Zoe Moreira on December 4, at an address in Stoneykirk, causing molten wax to splash over them both and the holder to strike the baby on the head.

The accused also denies assaulting Zoe Moreira the same day by pulling her hair and scratching her on the neck.

The case will be called again on January 28.
