The plight of a group set up to expose alleged problems in the planning administration of Dumfries and Galloway Council has been rejected by a community council.
A letter sent to Cree Valley Community Council in Newton Stewart from the group of anonymous people, calling themselves Spotlight on DG, claimed they emailed local councillors about their concerns but the emails had been blocked.
The letter says: “We have been criticised for remaining anonymous, but those of you who have ever had dealings with local planners will know how antagonistic they can be.
“We feel that an independent inquiry should be hel into the entire operation of the planning department.”
Councillor Bob Boan said he replied to the letter inviting a representative to the Cree Valley meetings but had no reply.
The council agreed they weren’t prepared to take the matter further without a name from the group to correspond with.
