A possible sighting of missing collie Skye, who has been the subject of a massive community search since October 22 when she ran off, was reported on Monday.
Skye’s owners had been staying near Monreith on holiday from Manchester when the nervous rescue dog bolted in excitement and was lost after slipping her lead. Sightings were made on the A75 near Glenluce at Dervaird Farm in the days after this, before the trail went dead.
But yesterday (Monday), a member of the public reported having seen a dog just like Skye limping near Glenluce as a second possible sighting was also made public, this time at woodland near the village park.
Although there are two dogs in the village bearing a stark resemblance to Skye, which caused some confusion in the early days of the search, her trackers are confident the latest report is of the beloved missing pooch.
Skye’s owners were forced to postpone their search after being involved in a car crash last week but locals continue their quest to find her.
