Since 2006, Macmillan Cancer Support has challenged people from across Dumfries & Galloway and beyond to take on an adrenaline filled challenge to raise money for people affected by cancer.
The gauntlet is down again and Macmillan is looking for superheroes to sign up for this year’s challenge, THE BIG ZIP on Saturday 30th August 2014 at Laggan Outdoor Activity Centre, near Gatehouse of Fleet.
The Big Zip event is your chance to do Scotland’s longest zip wire and scream your head off all the way down off Ben John (the hill) towards the beautiful Solway Firth (the sea). Whether you are living with cancer yourself or are a relative, friend, partner or colleague, why not give it a go?
Funds raised will help Macmillan ensure that no one faces cancer alone.
This is a fund raising exercise, and as such each participant will be asked to pay a £20 registration fee and then guarantee to raise the minimum amount of ₤100 in sponsorship to be paid over (by cheque) at the registration desk on the day of the zip.
The abseil will take place between the hours of 9am and 5pm at Laggan Outdoor Activity Centre. Safety instructors will be present to provide helmets, gloves, harnesses and all safety equipment, along with expert guidance and tuition during the challenge. This allows both expert and novice alike to take part in this exhilarating and worthwhile challenge.
