Kirkcudbright Riding of the Marches

Kirkcudbright saw its annual Riding of the Marches keep up with tradition last Friday night as around 120 horses made their way around the town boundary in fine form.

Keeping up the 15th century ritual, the riders gathered by the River Dee to walk the streets and mark the boundaries, led by Cornet Colin Davidson & Cornet’s Lass Tracy Connelly. Of course, a tipple was sampled at the local pubs en route and the entire spectacle was enjoyed by locals and visitors who turned out en masse to witness the beautiful animals parade the town.
