Monday morning’s sudden cold-snap brought traffic challenges as black ice awaited motorists early on.
With snow having fallen briefly on Sunday night before temperatures plummeted, pavements and roads were treacherous.
The A75 was slowed down following a two-vehicle crash near Auchenlarie Holiday Park, as a white Vauxhall Astra driven by 24-year old local female and a black Berlingo van being driven by a 26-year old local male collided after 7.30am.
The drivers and a 38 year old local male passenger of the van were all taken to Dumfries Infirmary as a precautionary measure.
Other bumps were reported across the region as the mercury slipped to below zero, but none claimed any serious injuries.
The chilly feel is set to continue over the coming week with temperatures ranging between zero and six degrees. Drivers are asked to allow time to scrape their windscreens.
