Hume calls for hospital issues to be addressed

Following an apology from NHS Dumfries and Galloway over a poor report into care at Stranraer’s Galloway Community Hospital, MSP for South of Scotland, Jim Hume, has called for the issues to be addressed.

He said: “Community hospitals and their staff are much loved in our rural communities. It’s vital that the issues relating to communication between staff and senior management identified in the report are fixed urgently, so that the nursing staff are able to provide the best care for patients. Ultimately, NHS Dumfries and Galloway chiefs must ensure that every support and proper guidance is given to the hospital workforce to allow them to do their jobs effectively.”
