Sunday’s high tides and rainfall saw harbours across the region precariously high.

Garlieston and Port William saw tides in excess of 10 metres - some of the highest in recent history.

The Met Office said the ‘supertides’ or ‘spring tides’ were reaching the peak of an 18-and-a-half-year cycle and warned that strong winds could cause severe tidal wash along the coast.

Little disruption was reported, however.
