Newton Stewart Initiative has arranged an Extraordinary General Meeting for Monday, April 11 at The Creebridge House Hotel, Newton Stewart.
This meeting, at 7pm, is being held due to the changes within the Initiative’s Executive Committee Members group and its Charity Registration with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR).
With the closing date for the flood aid gathering now passed, and working alongside Cree Valley Community Council, the delivery of cheques to those private households worse affected by December’s flooding has now taken place. The group received many warm thank yous from local residents.
The initiative has also been working on getting its online calendar for the hiring of the Newton Stewart Centre developed and published. They have received many enquiries already and secured 12 different groups who have booked their events.
If you are having special event, or indeed if you find yourself having to relocate from your existing place and require somewhere in Newton Stewart, email firstname.lastname@example.org or pop in to the Newton Stewart Centre (opposite The Library) which is normally manned most mornings.
The group have made every effort to ensure that other registered charities and not-for-profit groups are given realistic hourly rates, along with all other groups and businesses receiving value for money. They are also offering Party Packs for special events.
There’s also a ‘hot desk’ office service for those who need somewhere for an hour or more whilst in town with access to a large desk with wireless internet and printing facilities.
They are hopeful of obtaining a scanner/copier, and should any reader have one they no longer require, they would very much appreciate the donation.
