When Graeme McCart’s dad spent three weeks on life support in ICU at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary, he was so overwhelmed by the support the family got from the staff there he vowed to “give something back”.
So, over two days, 24-year-old Graeme, from Glenquicken Farm, will attempt to cycle the complete 7 Stanes route to raise money for the ICU staff who looked after his 58-year-old father so well.
Graeme said: “All the money will go to the ICU after the unbelievable support they gave to the family when my dad was on a life support machine. I just wanted to give something back.”
Graeme’s charity cycling challenge will take place on Saturday, November 31, and Sunday, December 1.
