A Newton Stewart man who caused more than £2000 worth of damage to windows and a car in the town after lashing out in drunken anger on pageant night will be sentenced next month.
Brian Maginess, 22, of 13 Ghyll Crescent, admitted in court this week that on August 18, he struck a window at 11 Albert Street, causing £160 of damage.
He was then seen to strike the window of Inspirations on the street, with repairs costing £360, and punching and kicking a Honda Civic parked nearby caused £1480 of damage.
Lawyer Michael Kilkerr said the owner was still too angry to discuss restitution, adding that the situation arose after Maginess was led to believe his girlfriend had been cheating.
Sheriff Kenneth Robb ordered Maginess to continue repayments for the windows at £40 a week before making a final judgement on November 26.
