Gatehouse date for Louise

Louise Jordan
Louise Jordan

Singer/songwriterLouise Jordan has confirmed a date in gatehouse this summer.

Louise Jordan brings her third album, Veritas, which develops stylistically from her previous three recordings which have been described as ‘Absolutely, totally and completely, brilliant”’ by Mike Harding, BBC Radio 2.

Louise has had support from Help Musicians UK who awarded her an Emerging Excellence Grant to produce this, her third album and she has been part of the English Folk Dance and Song Society’s Aspire Programme for the development of emerging artists working with producer Stu Hanna (Show of Hands, Seth Lakeman, Megson) as a mentor.

Louise has a wealth of experience behind her in many areas having studied law, worked as a youth worker and in youth justice before training and working as a teacher in challenging schools in east London as part of the Teach First graduate scheme. Whilst working as a project manager for Shelter and studying for a Masters (MA) in Human Rights Louise discovered folk clubs. ‘I believe these experiences’ she says ‘have informed the direction of my songwriting and performing. I write and choose songs which explore the human condition and which people can relate to.’

With four recordings, six UK and one European tour already under her belt, Louise Jordan is back on the road visiting venues across the UK. A truly independent musician, Louise continues to win support across the country with a stream of exceptional reviews and some national radio play to boot. Louise continues to explore and uncover her own unique sound and style through her third album Veritas. Credited as writer, engineer and producer Louise also sings, plays guitar and piano.

Veritas is Latin for truth and the album reflects on the role of honesty and integrity in our lives. Both graceful and engaging, Louise’s music is as simple as it is complex. Between intricate instrumental arrangements and powerful vocal lines, Veritas exudes effortless elegance and charm. Louise will perform tracks from her album Veritas (which is released on Monday 29th September) including an original song about New Forest smuggler Lovey Warne, Louise’s empowering self-penned single ‘In the End’, traditional songs including ‘Bushes and Briars’ and a unique arrangement of Handel’s aria ‘Where’er You Walk’.

Copies of Veritas are available for digital download now, on Amazon and iTunes. Physical copies can be purchased at performances throughout Louise’s album launch tour or by emailing music@louisejordan.co.uk.
