WIGTOWNSHIRE curlers Jodie Milroy and Vicki Adams recently faced each other in the final of the Scottish Women’s Championships in Perth. The final was shown on TV and prompted Nancy Hornell from Wigtown Road, Newton Stewart, to dig out a photograph of the now defunct Galloway Province Young Curlers Club from 1983. Vicki’s mum and dad, Gordon and Kate, are in it along with Jodie’s dad, Len. The picture of the football team fron the 1970s, printed two weeks ago, created a lot of interest. Gordon Hyslop, who went on to play for Stranraer FC, says it was a Wigtownshire under-18s team that played a Stewartry under-18s team in a Galloway trial at Blairmount Park, Newton Stewart in September 1976. The names are, back row: John Milligan, Gordon Campbell, Ian Murphy, Kenny Coid, John Sharp, Hugh Murdoch, Jim Burns.
