Fun day for charity raises £700

On Wednesday local children’s author Tom Dingwall receiving a cheque for £700 from David McNally, the owner of the Grapes Hotel in Springholm, to support his charity fundraiser for breast cancer.

This magnificent sum was raised by David and his wife Janet at a fun day at their pub at which Tom was the evening entertainment and has kindly been donated to him to add to his final amount from sales of his current CD for Breast Cancer Research.

Tom said: “Even though the weather wasn’t very good on the fun day, the generous locals of the pub dug deep and raised this brilliant sum. I send my heartfelt thanks to them as well as David and Janet.”

Tom intends collating all his CD sales soon and will have a final figure to donate to his charity. CDs are still on sale in Boots Chemist and Laura’s Giftshop in Newton Stewart.
