Free lift for Merrick Lesiure Centre users

USERS of the Merrick Leisure Centre in Newton Stewart are being offered free transport to Stranraer so that they can continue to use leisure facilities whilst the Merrick is temporary closed.

Free transport is being offered to the Ryan Centre in Stranraer so that users don’t miss out during the two days the facility will be closed.

Essential maintenance work will be taking place within Douglas Ewart High School. As part of these works, the contractors will have to turn off the power supply in the building on Friday 29 July and Monday 1 August. This means that the Merrick Leisure Centre will be without power until 5pm each day. However, users will be able to use the Merrick between 5.00pm - 10.30pm and during the weekend.

The free transport initiative to the Ryan Centre, Stranraer will mean that users of the Merrick can still be able to use leisure facilities during the closure. The free transport will be available at particular times during these days; however spaces on the bus must be booked a minimum of 24 hours in advance.

For more information, users can phone the Merrick Leisure Centre on 01671 404301.
