Former ‘Business Personality of the Year’ found guilty of £110,000 fraud

A Machars-based former ‘Business Personality of the Year’ has been found guilty of defrauding a Stewartry garage of £110,000 after a trial at Dumfries Sheriff Court.

Forty-three-year old Wanda Campbell from Auchenmalg, near Glenluce, was found guilty unanimously by the jury after a seven-day trial, and was warned to expect a jail sentence by Sheriff Scott Pattison when she returns to the court for sentencing on October 31.

The accused was found guilty of acting with others to take the money from James Haugh, Castle Douglas, between March 2012 and October 2013.

In December 2010, judges were unanimous in declaring Wanda Campbell Dumfries and Galloway Life magazine’s ‘Business Personality of the Year’ for her ’Flavours of Galloway’ hamper business.
