IF you are a frustrated football player looking for a game a group of enthusiasts are looking for you to start up a new team in the Newton Stewart/Minnigaff area.

David McCreadie told The Galloway Gazette this week about plans to launch the Creebridge House Football Team in the Stewarty Amateur League next season.

David said that it was important to create a local team for local players and the group are hoping to raise funds with a race night at the Creebridge House Hotel on March 18, starting at 7.30pm.

The owners of the hotel, Steve and Sarah Donnan have already put up the money for strips for the proposed team so all they need now are a the players.

Anyone who is interested in either playing, coaching or helping out in any way should contact David on 07766 766361.

The money raised will go towards the fees for the league and as the race night takes place on the annual ‘Red Nose’ charity day, David was hopeful that if sufficient funds were raised, some of the money would go to charity.
