Exciting new young folk trio Caileag are to hit this year’s Big Burns Supper Festival in Dumfries.
As part of the event, Caileag will be performing at the Cairndale Hotel on Friday, January 24, at 7pm.
The young trio are all students at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland studying music. Putting together their individual traditional and folk music ideas and experiences, they have created an electric new trio which takes on the best Scottish music in a contemporary style.
Their show at this year’s festival will showcase the band for the first time in Dumfries – where one of them, Holly Little, comes from – as they play the best of Robert Burns, traditional and Scottish folk material.
Caileag consist of two fiddles, piano, guitar and vocals. This combination has allowed the group to create their own modern sound. Their show is set to be an upbeat, enjoyable evening for all ages and will celebrate the birth of the bard.
Tickets are only £5 and are available at the Big Burns Supper website and box office on Munchies Street, Dumfries. Tickets can also be purchased at Morrisons Supermarket, Dumfries.
