Charity donations given to help those affected by the flooding in the Newton Stewart area on December 30th has reached £7500.

The flood appeal was discussed at the Cree Valley Community Council meeting and with only a few days left to donate, plans are underway to distribute the fund. A sub-committee of CVCC and NSI member will decide how and they plan to ask the council for a list of residents who were flooded. NSI chair Susan McKie said everyone was “keen to get the money to the people affected” and David Inglis added: “The money will be given to residents only, businesses will not be involved”.
