THE firewalk on Bonfire Night at Stranraer’s Agnew Park not only attracted a large crowd of spectors but the money raised for charity by those walking over the hot coals has rocketed past £8500.

Organiser Cat Adams, who has raised money for the Scottish Cot Death Trust since the passing of her baby boy Drew in 2011, said: “What a night! Overwhelmed doesn’t even begin to describe it. It was so busy, I cannot believe how many people turned up. I have to say, while we have raised lots of both money and awareness, I have also made lots of new friends organising this – including people who have also been through the sudden death of a child, which has been a great personal help to me.”
