Fire truck needs a bit of help

ONE of the two Newton Stewart Fire tenders visiting Creetown Gala on Saturday had to be towed out from soggy grass - by a Land Rover!

Unfortunately whilst reversing in a very tight space in King George V Park, the rear wheels left the hardcore and became lodged in the boggy ground.

The engine was fitted with a winch on the front so all it needed was an anchor point to ‘self rescue’.

A helpful gentleman came along in his ‘mobility scooter’ to offer assistance but after a few laughs, it was Bob Boan’s 4X4 that saved the day.
