LAST week Fiona Macbride retired from Stranraer Sheriff Court after servicing the court service for 32 years.
Fiona was joined by colleagues, past and present, family and friends at the court last Friday where Sheriff Clerk Bruce Lindsay paid tribute to her dedication to her work, her good humour and her consideration and support for her colleagues.
Stranraer Solicitor Margo Nichol then spoke for the faculty saying that Fiona had to deal with a variety of events during her time in the Sheriff Clerk’s department including births, marriages and deaths. She added that everyone in the faculty wished her the very best for her retirement.
Fiona was presented with a necklace and earrings from her workmates and an engraved decanter and wine glasses from the faculty.
An emotional Fiona thanked everyone for their kindness and said that she had enjoyed every moment of her 32 years with the court service.
