STORE & BREEDING SHEEP

1118 Sheep Sold at Newton Stewart’s Store & Breeding Sheep Sale on Friday 2nd September 2016.

All classes of breeding sheep still easy to sell. Store lambs with a bit of size and power still good to sell. Longer keep types coming to lesser values. Top price today was £98 for a pair of Cheviot Tups from B Landers, Bardrochwood. Mule Ewe Lambs sold to £88 from J McKenna & Sons, Gass, Kirkcowan. The Gass also topped the store lambs with a pen of 31 beautiful Suffolk Lambs selling for £69. Blackface Ewe Lambs sold to £51 twice, once from D Brisbane, Little Tongue and then from A Kay & Son, Knockeen.
