Local horse Esme, owned by Pamela Norton and Gary McKie from Kirkcudbright, will be flown out this month to join her new owners in Dubai.
Esme will pursue a career in eventing and show-jumping with her new rider and will be kept at the 5-star Emirates Equestrian Centre, Dubai.
Pamela Norton said: ““We will be sorry to see Esme go as she is a character, she has always been a very promising mare who will now be able to fulfil her potential in a world class equestrian environment and I’m sure she won’t miss the wind and rain of our Scottish winters.”
Seven-year-old Esme is an Irish Sport Horse and was sourced from Ireland by local dealer Arthur McNabney from Newton Stewart as a three-year-old. She has been owned by the current owners for the past four years and was trained by Nigel Springer of British show jumping fame and more recently, schooled and competed by Arlene McNabney of McNabney Horses.
