Electric bus is officially launched

The new electric bus service operating between Stranraer and the Ferry Port was officially launched this week by Transport Minister Keith Brown L/R  Keith Brown, Colin Blunt, Councillor Brian Collins, Councillor Colin Smith,  William McLean and Craig Rennie P&O Irish Ferries.

The new electric bus service operating between Stranraer and Cairnryan Ferry Port was officially launched this week by Transport Minister Keith Brown.

The service has been designed to reconnect Stranraer with its rail station and both ferry ports and although it started its route on 16 September, it was officially put to use on Tuesdayu.

It is the first local bus service in Scotland to be operated by a fully electric bus. The vehicle was provided by SWestrans with the support of the Scottish Green Bus Fund and will be run by local operator McLeans Coaches.
