Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Education Committee will hear an end of year assessment next week which will show exam results at a 10-year high and high attendance rates.
A council spokesman said this week: “Schools continue to see high attendance levels and low levels of exclusion.
“Exclusions in primary schools have been a focus during the last year and an action plan aimed at reducing the need for exclusion is in place.”
Councillor Jeff Leaver, chairman of the Education Committee, said: “I’m very pleased with our progress towards achieving the desired outcomes of the Education Services business plan.
“There are a number of key areas where we have exceeded our expectations.
“In areas where we are currently below expected performance, we have robust improvement actions in place which will enable us to deliver our aims.”
