Five art-loving women calling themselves ‘The Artisans’ have decided to pool their passion and organise craft markets around the area.
The first will be at Kirkcudbright on Saturday, April 6, from 10am to 3pm in the Parish Church Hall. Entry will be free. It features Scaur Glen Soaps, Handmade by Helen, Ella Noble Designs, Kate’s Textiles, Choose a Cheese, Earth’s Crust Bakery, Tickety Boo Jams and lots more. There will also be craft demonstrations and “Create and Take” sessions.
The Artisans Market is a not-for-profit organisation which aims to promote the best of south-west Scotland’s small crafters, as well as supporting local charities and good causes. This market will support Kirkcudbright Rainbows and Guides, and Leukaemia Care.
The market will add to the list of such events as The Lady Magpie and Me market which had been scheduled for March 23 in Castle Douglas but which was cancelled due to bad weather. It will now also take place on April 6, 10am-4pm, making a trip to both possible.
