The Scottish Seabird Centre has announced a ninth international photography competition and Galloway photographers – in a prime position to capture some great shots – are encouraged to pick up their cameras.
The Scottish Seabird Centre Nature Photography Awards attract entries from amateur photographers locally, nationally and internationally.
The awards seek to identify the best photographic talent from all age groups as well as encouraging people to interact with the natural world.
The competition categories are: Landscape; Scottish Wildlife; Worldwide Wildlife; Creative Visions of Nature; World Flora; Environmental Impact and Junior ( divided into two age groups: under 12s and 12 to 16).
The closing date for entries is 19 October and the shortlist announced on 21 November. The shortlist will then be on display in the Seabird Centre and online for the public to cast their vote until Sunday 22 February 2015. To enter the awards, see www.seabird.org.
