For the last 10 months, a group of Machars women have been fundraising for Epilepsy Scotland and on Saturday the rounded off their efforts by climbing Ben Nevis.

Arlene Broll, pictured second right along with Tracy Christine, Mandy Gilmour and Patricia McMaster, said: “I think all the girls would agree that this was definitely a hard challenge but an amazing experience and probably one of our biggest achievements. To date we have raised an outstanding amount of £7569.71. We thank everyone who has supported us and donated to this cause and helped us to totally smash our original target of £2000.”
