AN injured climber was assisted by Kirkcudbright Lifeboat crews last week after suffering a dislocated knee on Meikle Ross.

At around 6.45pm on Wednesday, the Lifeboat was launched to assist HM Coastguard in the rescue of the male and two crew were landed to assess the situation.

The Kirkcudbright Coastguard cliff rescue team set up their equipment in order to allow the casualty to be safely lowered into the lifeboat, which then returned to Kirkcudbright Harbour where an ambulance was waiting. The casualty was taken to Dumfries Infirmary and was released later that evening.
