A local church has changed its name and is inviting local artists, graphic designers and others with creative flair to submit ideas for a new church logo.
Gatehouse Christian Fellowship has received the charity regulator’s consent to change its name to Gatehouse Community Church.
The church was founded around 12 years ago when a group of local Christians felt the need for a different approach. For the past few years they’ve met at 10.30 each Sunday morning in the Gatehouse of Fleet Community Centre and are often referred to locally as the community church.
Pastor Chris Barratt said: “When we realised this was how people see us, we felt we wanted to adopt the name. We aim to be a vibrant local group of Christians who live our lives according to Jesus’s teaching and make a positive difference in the life of our community and beyond. All are welcome to be part of our church family and it doesn’t matter whether or not you’ve previously been part of a church.”
The church now needs a new logo to use on its letterheads, publicity and website and hopes somebody in the local community will design it.
Chris said: “If we adopt one of the designs submitted, its designer will win a £60 Amazon voucher or equivalent which we hope to present to the winner at a special event this autumn.”
There’ll be an extra prize for the best children’s (under-16) entry too. If you’d like to have a go at designing the new logo, please contact the church at firstname.lastname@example.org and request a design brief.
