Castle set for Christmas fair

The annual Lochinch Castle Charity Christmas Fair returns on November 8 and 9, offering unique gifts from 36 specially selected stalls – the perfect way to start your Christmas shopping.

The Lochinch Castle Charity Christmas Fair is being held in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and Coronation Day Centre, Stranraer, and 10 percent of exhibitors’ proceeds will be donated to the causes.

Last year the fair, situated undercover in the beautiful surroundings of the Victorian stables in the carriage houses and large Christmas marquee attracted more than 1000 people.

Open from 3pm-7pm on Friday, with a free glass of mulled wine for every guest, and 10am-4pm on Saturday, the fair is sure to get you in the mood for Christmas.

The wide variety of stalls offer gifts for everyone this year, including books, gifts for gardeners, cooks, home interiors, jewellery, clothing, Christmas cards and decorations. Castle Kennedy Garden tearoom will be serving hot drinks and home-baking with Sally Hair, Drumbreddan House Catering, providing seasonal hot food.

Leswalt Macmillan Choir and Ardwell Choir will add to the atmosphere with festive carol singing and Santa will be in his grotto on the Saturday from 11am-2pm.

Lochinch Castle is situated three miles east of Stranraer on the A75. Admission to the fair is £3.50 per adult and £1 per child. Free parking is available adjacent to the Victorian stables.

From stocking fillers to larger gifts, the unique range of carefully selected stalls will provide inspirational presents for all ages.
