On Friday 24 May a cheque for £650 was presented to Jill Forster, the local representative of the Care Of Police Survivors by Mr Patrick Shearer former Chief Constable of Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary.

The monies were raised during the force Burns Supper held in February this year.

Care of Police Survivors is a UK registered charity dedicated to helping the families of police officers who have been lost in the line of duty to rebuild their lives. It aims to ensure that survivors have all the help they need to cope with such a tragedy, and that they remain part of the police family.
