Care home takes top dementia care award

Carlingwark House care home in Castle Douglas has been recognised at the prestigious National Dementia Awards, scooping a top award for its dedication and commitment to the wellbeing of residents.

The care home, part of national social care charity Community Integrated Care, collected the ‘Best Dementia Continence Care Award’ at the event for the second year in a row thanks to its “high standards of continence care, promoting the dignity of residents at all times.”

In recent months, Carlingwark staff have shared their expertise in the field with the wider social care sector in Scotland, presenting at the Scottish Caring and Dementia Congress this year, as well as working with the Care Inspectorate to present at a series of roadshows. Community Integrated Care supports almost 5000 people with learning disabilities and mental ilness.
