Police Scotland is seeking witnesses to what appears to be a suspicious fire in a car which was parked in a lay-by on the A714 near to Bargrennan.

The fire in the burgundy coloured Saab was discovered just after 07am on Sunday 27 November and was extinguished by the Fire and Rescue Service.

Constable Kirsty Cantlie said: “The car had been left in the lay-by after it broke down on Friday 25 November. We know that it was alright about 6.30am on the morning it went on fire, and so we would like to hear from anyone who may have been in the Clachaneasy area on the A714 on Sunday morning if they saw anything suspicious. Callers can reach police at Newton Stewart on the 101 number.”
