ONE of the designers who produce the handmade felt book covers that embellish and protect the first British Florilegium commissioned by HRH The Prince of Wales is among the line up at this year’s Wigtown Book Festival.
Soft furnishing designer Gina from Gina Lillycrop Designs will be swapping her home studio in Barrachan for the Children’s Tipi to run a craft workshop throughout the day on Sunday 30th September. The former nursery nurse said: “I’m delighted to have been invited to run a children’s workshop at the festival this year. There’s something really special about a child’s imagination, I love to see their satisfaction in creating their own artwork. I can’t wait to see what they think of my dark sky themed felt designs.”
Locals may already be familiar with Gina’s work as her luxury children’s rugs, inspired by the surrounding countryside, in the shape of lambs, calves and Belted Galloways, hang in gift shops all around the region.
