Portpatrick Lifeboat had a busy start to the week with two call-outs in one day.
The crew was called out at 3.10pm on Monday to reports of a nine-metre yacht just a mile east of the Mull of Galloway suffering engine failure and with no wind to sail in.
The team arrived on-scene at 3.50pm to find the owners had managed to get the engine started and it was proceeding under its own power. The Lifeboat escorted the yacht for an hour untill all were happy the engine was running ok.
But at 10pm, another call came in to aid a 10-meter rigid inflatable boat (RIB) suffering drive failure 13 miles west of Portpatrick.
The Lifeboat arrived at 10.35pm and took seven passangers off the RIB and on to the Lifeboat before rigging a tow rope to the RIB and bringing it in at 11.30pm.
