Machars young farmers have certainly kicked of the year 2016 with a bang.

Starting off this year’s events was their New Members night which was held in Kirkinner hall on the 8th of April.

A great night was had which saw over 30 old and new faces take part in various activities with a yf twist.

These included hungry hungry hippos, feed bag fashion shows, eating competitions and the all-time favourite, “waft the fish”.

New member’s forms were handed out along with this year’s Summer Syllabus. The Syllabus contains all the details of upcoming yf events that will ensure an eventful summer!

To retain a copy of the syllabus, contact anyone on the committee or find a digital copy on the Machars yf page on Facebook.

The Saturday following the New Members night, a team of enthusiastic netball players travelled to Whitletts Activity Centre to give some Ayrshire teams a run for their money. Following two narrow defeats, the Machars team dug deep to clinch a victory in their final game.

The girls put in a tremendous effort and a great day out was had by all.

If anyone is interested in getting involved in playing netball for the club at other upcoming yf netball events, the club will be beginning regular netball training throughout the summer months. Starting on the 2nd of June at 7pm in the Port William Muga.

The year couldn’t have got off to a better start and we hope the club continues to go from strength to strength.
