The miserable damp morning and the lure of the Wimbledon final kept many people at home on Sunday however Wigtown Agricultural Society’s Social Sunday was still a success.

A big thank you to everyone who came to support it, £350 was raised which will be put towards maintenance of Bladnoch Park.

The Ayrshire Commercial Vintage Vehicle Club and Wigtownshire Driving Club were the main attractions and there were displays from both Galloway Tanks and PIRSAC.

Machars Young Farmers kindly ran the side shows; the winner of the Sweeties in Jar was Floraidh Vance.

After the lorries departed, some of the youngsters had a go with Girds & Cleeks but football seemed to be the preferred sporting activity!

The donations of home baking, food from Ballard’s Catering, drinks from Select Bars were appreciated by all and made it a sociable afternoon.
