Fifteen-year-old Jack Forsyth from Mid Bishopton, Whithorn, won the champion young stocksperson competition last weekend at the fatstock show at Lanark Market.

The competition was open to all competitors from the age of 14 -26 from across the UK and was judged on their ability to handle and show their cattle in the various classes during the day.

Jack is photographed receiving his first prize ticket with one of the Mid Bishopton homebred calves.

The Livescot event was run by the Scottish National Fatstock Club.
